FAQ - The Drift Lab

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I want to buy an RC Drift Car. Any recommendations? +

We usually recommend based on your pathway and budget. First, decide why you want a car — professional Drifting or casual fun. If you plan to go pro and have over 10 Lakhs MMK, go with Yokomo. For tighter budgets but serious goals, start with TT01D, TT02D, or smaller-scale models like LDRC.

Q: I want to buy an RC Drift car under MMK 400,000. What should I do? +

It’s hard to find a full-size 1:10 Drift car in that range, but 1:18 scale options like LDRC or MN268 are good. They’re smaller but perform far better than toy-grade cars. If you plan to go pro, start saving for a Yokomo RD2.0 Drift Package. It’ll outperform 10x or 100x times more than the small scale cars.

Q: I want an RC car with a GTR body. Can I do that? +

Absolutely! You can swap to bodies like R35, R34, JZX100, or even Huracan. Any hobby-grade chassis allows interchangeable shells as long as the wheelbase matches.

Q: Is Yokomo the best option for beginners? +

Not necessarily. There’s no single “best” in Drifting. Yokomo is popular for its proven quality, but MST, Kyosho, and Team Associated also offer great RTR options for beginner. It depends on your driving style and goals.

Q: Is Touring/Drift fine for beginners? +

If you just want casual fun, yes. But if you aim for professional-level Drifting, Touring/Drift chassis aren’t ideal, as they’re tuned for power sliding, not precision Drift angles or RWD control.

Q: How can I know if a car is a real Drift chassis? +

Check the drivetrain. True modern Drift cars use RWD. AWD systems are usually touring or old CS types. Also, the layout is rear-biased, usually motor and battery sit toward the rear. Trusted brands include, such as Yokomo, Reve D, Usukani, Shibata, Overdose, and MST, offer reliable chassis.

Q: What are the best Drift chassis? +

There is no absolute “best” chassis, as it all depends on your driving style and preference. However, high-end or mid-range chassis with full option setups generally offer the best performance and tuning potential.

Q: Are parts from different brands compatible? +

Some are, but not all. Electronics like servos, ESCs, motors, and gyros usually fit any chassis if dimensions match. However, suspension arms, hubs, or knuckles are often brand-specific. We therefore would like to request you to double-check specifications before buying.

Q: How often should I maintain or clean my RC Drift car? +

Clean your car every few sessions. Remove dust from bearings, recheck screws, and inspect belts or gears. Proper maintenance prevents steering lag, overheating, and part wear, especially on indoor tracks where dust accumulates quickly.

Q: Does The Drift Lab sell used products? +

Usually not. Currently, we only offer 100% brand new products. However, in the future, we may consider selling used products such as our own or our friends’ cars. As of now, that plan has not yet been decided.

Q: What is the cheapest RC The Drift Lab sells? +

The cheapest RC Drift products are parts (accessories and spares). For RC Drift cars, the cheapest are chassis kits, starting from MMK 515,000 (shipping not included). You can also consider Usukani D3T for around 3 Lakhs. If you want a complete RTR Drift car, Kyosho Fazer D2 is around MMK 1,105,000 (shipping not included).

Q: Is The Drift Lab credible? +

Since we are not promoting ourselves very much, opinions may differ. However, in terms of credibility, you can absolutely trust us. We’ve sold several chassis and electronics long before you've heard of the name "The Drift Lab." Moreover, we’ve invested months of development and funding into building this website and growing our presence. Credibility might depend on your perspective, but we are dedicated to working only with those who trust and respect us.

Q: Can we get Cash On Delivery (COD)? +

Definitely not. We do not offer Cash on Delivery now or in the future. Our business is built on mutual trust. For that reason, all payments must be completed in advance before we process your order like you buy Apple products.

Q: How long does it take to order? +

In-stock: ~2–3 days within Yangon Region, ~4–5 days outside Yangon Region. Pre-order: ~2–4 weeks. We usually ship at the start and end of each month, so durations may vary slightly.

Q: Do I need to pay a deposit? +

Yes. For pre-orders, a 50% deposit is required, with the remaining balance payable when the items arrive in Yangon. For in-stock items, we ship after receiving the full payment.

Q: Can retailers contact you? +

Of course, you can. As long as you show honesty, you’re welcome to become our partner. However, we kindly request that you do not pretend to be a customer when contacting us. We’ve faced many pretenders who actually sell RC products but disguise themselves as customers to collect information. We’ve also noticed individuals who take orders from real customers and then place the same order through us. In these cases, please reach out to us as a retailer directly. We can offer you special benefits through an official partnership. However, for those acting as “benefit takers” instead of genuine hobbyists, we will not answer any inquiries. Our blogs and knowledge-sharing content are created for real hobbyists who want to improve their skills, not for people who use the information for profit.

Q: Can I buy Die-cast? +

Of course not. We don’t sell die-cast models such as Hot Wheels or MiniGT. We also don’t sell other RC categories like crawlers, planes, or boats. Since our field of expertise is RC Drifting, we only provide products specifically related to RC Drift.

Q: What payment methods are accepted? +

We currently accept KBZ Pay, AYA Pay, and bank transfers. In the future, we plan to expand our payment options for better convenience.

Q: Can I cancel or change my order after payment? +

The short answer is no. Since we handle multiple orders each month and follow a strict process to deliver items efficiently, cancellations or changes after payment are difficult. However, if you contact us within one day after payment, we may be able to assist depending on the order’s progress.
